This modern loft style apartment is situated within a stones throw of one Paris's largest and most beautiful parks, the Buttes Chaumont - designed by Hausmann and sometime described as a cross between 19th century Bavaria and Conan Doyle's Lost World! The nearest métro station is only two minutes away - Buttes Chaumont, and you are within walking distance of Belleville and Canal St Martin, two of the city's most vibrant and up-and-coming areas packed with cinemas, fashion shops, art galleries, bars, restaurants and cafés, less known by the tourists but a magnet for Parisians "in the know".

The apartment is located on the first floor (with lift) of a converted sweet factory and sleeps 4 in a double bedroom and a sofa-bed - there's one bathroom and a separate loo. It is a beautifully designed open-space loft on two levels and the use of glass instead of walls gives it a wonderfully bright and airy feel.
You enter the apartment into the main living, dining and kitchen area (23ft x 19ft10, 7m x 6.05m) which has been decorated with a tasteful mix of antique and modern. There are wooden floorboards throughout covered with large oriental rugs and huge French windows that open on to an wood-decked terrace with views over an adjoining large rooftop garden.

|
The wood-decked terrace (325sqft, 30sqm), with views over an adjoining large rooftop garden has an outdoor table and chairs and is a very pleasant place to enjoy a glass wine after a hard day in the city.

The living space has two double sofas, one of which unfolds into a double bed, a large antique coffee table, two antique armchairs, a TV with cable (CNN and BBC), a Hi-fi and DVD player. The dining area has a wooden table that can accommodate 4 people or 8 if unfolded.
The kitchen space is located behind a large bar / work surface made of coloured glass. It's ultra-modern in design and has all the expected appliances including electric induction hobs with air filter system, oven, microwave, fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.
A flight of stairs leads up to the office area, bedroom and bathroom. It is a mezzanine style first floor and all rooms look down onto the living area below.
|
|
The office has a large glass desk, a smaller antique desk, two chairs, high speed internet connection and a telephone line.
The bedroom (13ft x 13ft, 4m x 4m) continues the open loft theme. There is a wall made entirely of glass which can be opened or closed. However if privacy is needed curtains can be drawn! There is a double bed (5ft3 wide), two small reading tables and a small dresser.

The en-suite bathroom has a bath tub, both a handheld shower and overhead power shower and a basin. A small corridor leads into a large walk in wardrobe. The loo can be found next to the office.
Don't miss a picnic in the one of the few parks with views over Paris or try out Chez Vincent or La Lanterne on the rue du Tunnel, both restaurants highly recommended by the locals. Alternatively, take a walk down the Rue de Belleville and try one of the many wonderful Vietnamese, Chinese or Thai restaurants.
This is a No Smoking property.
